Custom Computer Case for BioDigitalPC

Scroll

The Problem

I was asked to design and 3D print a custom computer case for a credit card PC with some attachments and a fan.

The Design

Inside the case, the computer could be mounted in securely. Holes in the case allowed access to the I/O ports. The fan was mounted such that air would be drawn in through the bottom and exhausted out the side. Standoffs were attached to the bottom to allow air flow. Bolts were press fit into the case so the lid could be screwed on.

Modular Design

I was later asked if I could make a second case so I decided to go for a modular design. Each module could hold a computer or be designed to hold a different component. The modules were then stacked with tabs on the side for bolts to secure the modules together. In this design, a single fan on the bottom created flow through the entire stack. A laser-cut acrylic lid topped it off.
